Moyo Farms

How We Got Our Start

“Moyo” means heart in the local Shona/ n’Dau language. The Moyo project represents the heart of a community. Moyo Farms began in 2017 as a permaculture farm "Mutisol" producing organic vegetables for a community and a school. The vision began with the idea to produce basic staple foods to improve nutrition and food supply in our rural community. In the process we learned about the severe challenges of Mozambique and how to face them in order to bring benefit to our cause. 7 years later, Moyo Farms has established itself as an innovative agricultural business with farms in Manica Province.

We are dedicated to agricultural innovation and food processing in preventing post harvest losses, while adding value to nutritional foods to local and export markets.

Our Mission is to continue pursuing a diversified primary production and vertical integration to provide strong foundations for growth. Our business focuses on the empowerment of women, who are the back bone of Mozambican agriculture, and will be the catalyst to improve food security.
